When is the best time to visit Vilnius?
May–June and September are the sweet spots — warm weather, long days, manageable crowds and excellent value. July–August is also good but slightly busier and more expensive.
What is Joninės?
Joninės (St John's Day, June 24) is one of Lithuania's most important folk festivals — bonfires are lit across the country, people search for the mythical fern flower, and midsummer is celebrated with music and dancing. It's a wonderful time to be in Lithuania.
Is Lithuania good in winter?
Yes for Vilnius — the Christmas market is excellent, prices are at their lowest and the old town is beautiful under snow. Not ideal for the Curonian Spit or outdoor activities, but a great city break option December–February.
When is the Curonian Spit beach season?
July and August are the best months for the Curonian Spit beach and Baltic coast — water temperatures reach 18–22°C and days are long.
